Anna Meyer, executive director of North Carolina’s Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra.

In Wednesday’s (6/14) Fayetteville Observer (North Carolina), an Observer editor writes, “Anna Meyer, 23, of Fayetteville, is the executive director of the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra. She was nominated for [the Observer’s] 40 Under 40 because she ‘has taken the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra to new heights in the areas of program expansion, inclusion, variety of programming and concert venues (e.g., “Symphony on Taps”), attendance, and diversity of audiences (race, age, geography, identity),’ a nominator writes. ‘She has impressed the FSO musicians by making herself available and being their advocate in the community. She has demonstrated visionary leadership in her outreach to the community.’… Meyer: I oversee the business operations of the Fayetteville Symphony and manage our staff, finances and development efforts. I ensure that the symphony is fulfilling its mission to educate, entertain and inspire our community. One of the things I love most about my job is that I get to interact with many different parts of our community and discover how we can be a better resource for the community…. Our team at the Fayetteville Symphony approaches everything with a team mentality and we are all willing to pitch in to make it all happen.”
